What Makes a Classic?

Winnie the Pooh; the Little Black Dress; Pride and Prejudice, Beethoven’s Fifth, Taylor Swift’s “red lip classic thing that you like.” No, not some oddball fancy dress party ( although that would be an invitation to accept) but instantly recognisable, well-loved books, looks and sounds. We know them to have quality at their core; a certain ease and confidence that shuns trends. They’re the classics.
